Zoe Molesworth and her horses

"Our horses and ponies have 10 acres of grazing but are surrounded on both sides by very high hedges and a stream runs along the bottom of the field," says editor of Equine, Canine and Country Life magazine, Zoe Molesworth. "This is a flies paradise. All the horses and ponies are also Chestnut which for some reason flies also love. After the drudge of the winter months, the cold and the mud, stabling and mucking out and feeds twice a day, I am sure all of us crave the warmer weather when rugs can come off and they can stay out overnight. When we turn them out, we have in the past spent time putting on creams, spraying them and using fly rugs, reasonably effective but time-consuming.  When I was offered the chance to try the Garlic Horsylx I was delighted.   In an easy to handle tub, it is robust enough to just remove the lid and leave in the field.  Initially I monitored their intake to ensure they did not have too much too quickly and then after a day or so I was able to leave the tubs in the field for them to help themselves as and when. We’ve not seen a 100% reduction in the flies, I don’t think you ever will but the change has been immense overall.  They are no longer looking stressed, constantly rubbing or trying to ease the discomfort.  Their coats look absolutely fantastic, they are bright in their eyes and so much happier.  You can clearly smell the garlic working from the inside out, it is evident on the skin so you know its working well.  The sprays and creams are very useful for when we are competing to alleviate the irritation of flies but when they are turned out at home, this has got to be the best solution ever."

Ciara Geraghty and Shannon

After speaking to Horslyx at Tattersalls in May 2009 Ciara Geraghty started using Respiratory Horslyx with her horse Shannon. "I bought the Respiratory Horslyx from you after speaking about the problems my horse had with his breathing and saying that I didn't like giving him Ventipulmin all the time. I have to say I'm so surprised at how well it had worked, I really didn't think it would be so good. He no longer coughs when I start working him - which he did before - and there is also no more discharge from his nose. My other horse also absolutely loves the Garlic Horslyx."

Peter Morgan and Polly

Peter Morgan spoke to a Horslyx representative at the RWAS in July 2009 and has since used Respiratory Horslyx on all seven of his Welsh Mountain Ponies who are living out 24/7. "We have found it especially helpful with one pony in particular, Polly, who has a palate defect. Initially we wanted to try it because of the extra ingredients, including menthol, to see if it would make any difference to her symptoms and help her gain weight and condition. Polly has since gained superb condition and weight and her symptoms of a runny nose and dry cough has most definitely improved over time. Because she is now with the group, all seven have access to the 15kg tub throughout the year. It has most definitely helped Polly, and our other ponies have most certainly benefited too. Their condition and coats improved within the first week of us buying the tub. Respiratory Horslyx has been cost effective as we now feed less due to the enhanced condition across all of them. We have been most impressed at how good it has kept in the extreme weather also. Our ponies are in tip top show condition. We are happy in the knowledge that our ponies are getting all the essential minerals in this superb product."

Julia Newberry and Toby

Julia bought Toby, a 16.3hh Warmblood last autumn. "He was lacking muscle and topline," she says. "Throughout the winter I fed him haylage and the Respiratory Horslyx (I wanted to event and so I selected the Respiratory blend to help his wind). By the spring he looked like a different horse. Nobody can believe he is the same animal! By the summer we qualified for the Nationals at the Riding Club area Horse Trials, and in August we were placed 9th at the Nationals at Aston le Walls. This was only our 4th ODE. The trial run for the Nationals was at Cheltenham BE90 (our first affiliated competition, and third ever ODE) and we were 2nd! Toby is a much happier horse when he has his lick in his stable. He's recently been on a period of box rest and I owe his sanity to being able to lick his Horslyx ad lib!"

Anna Pazurek and Jamie
After going through traumatic Colic surgery, Horslyx helped ex race horse Jamie back on the road to recovery. “My horse - Jamaahir aka Jamie - had his colic surgery on 7th June. It was a very severe case of an epiploic foramen entrapment. My horse was in an extreme pain. I have never seen such a horrible and heartbreaking case of a colic even though I work in equine business on a daily basis for the last few years and have seen lots of similar cases. Jamie had to have his surgery within a very short period of time or the pain would have been too severe and the vet would have to put him down. Thanks to my friends we managed to transport Jamie to a veterinary clinic within 40 minutes. He had his surgery straight away. The veterinary team was already waiting prepared.”
