Carolyne Chelton and Our Gracie |
|
"Grace is a 10 year old ex-racer. She managed to catch her front offside leg on some fencing and had a deep wound between the bulb of her heel and the pastern. Luckily her tendon sheath hadn’t been severed and it was just a matter of cleaning up the wound and stitching flaps of skin back together! She went off her food for a few days as a result of having so much sedative in her system – she lost weight dramatically and we went out to buy some treats to cheer her up – we bought some “likits” in assorted flavours which she turned her nose up at. Then we found that our local tack shop sold Mini Horslyx. We tried the Original Mini Horslyx first and her reaction to it was overwhelming. She just cannot get her tongue out fast enough – her eyes go glassy and she’s really “away with the fairies”. Then we bought her Garlic Horslyx – because it helps keeps the flies away! For Christmas I bought her the 5 kg Original tub – along with the holder. I think your products are absolutely marvellous and I’ve converted several other owners in our livery yard. When she had to be sedated to have dressings changed we found that instead of a couple of jabs of sedative (one was never enough) she stood quiet as a lamb totally engrossed in the Mini Horslyx."

"Smokey is a 14hh, 11 year old Connemara pony fed on a high fibre diet as he has previously suffered with low grade laminitis. He has Mini Horslyx so I can control his intake being laminitic and a greedy pony! He is exercised daily, he has a private lesson every week and attends a weekly group lesson at a local riding school. He also does local riding club showing at the weekend during the summer."

"I have been giving my 20 year old horse Respiratory Horslyx for several years as it helps his breathing. Up until recently we competed in local showing classes at our Riding Club, in Veteran and Best Turned Out Senior classes."

Jonathan Taylor and Booboo |
|
Jonathan Taylor is the BHS Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Area Representative and owns Booboo. "A year ago Booboo got Airomasis in the lungs and had to go on to Ventapulmin and an Inhaleler every day. I decided to put him on Respiratory Horslyx to see if it worked, he started off getting it for 20 minutes a day and it worked wonders and very quickly only needed his inhaler on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Since starting Booboo's breathing is much better and he has got into a routine now so I have been able to take the bars off the top of the Stable Lick Holder, he will eat his hay then stop, go to his holder and have a lick and then go back to the hay."

Ailsa MacTaggart and The Mighty Imp |
|
"I own The Mighty Imp, a seven year old gelding who has been successful at both Riding Club level and with British Eventing. He's a difficult horse to feed as he loses weight easily, but needs to keep his energy levels up, so he costs me a small fortune in haylage! I use the Respiratory Horslyx in his stable and he goes mad for it. Only thing is, given how white he is (see pic), he loves to get covered in his favourite brown sticky treat! I always seem to be going around armed with a wet sponge! Horslyx products are just brilliant. My favourite use for them is using the Mini Horslyx when coping with a stressful situation (my vet has since take on the idea!). We had a horse that needed extensive treatment on injured hind legs and the only way we could get him to stand still was using a Mini Horslyx to keep him distracted. Really did work a treat! I've also used them for when I'm teaching youngsters to pick their feet up. They soon learn to pick them up swiftly if they know they're going to get a go at the Mini Horslyx! And I always keep a couple in my tack locker of the lorry in case I have a difficult loader."
